Soccer Academy Successes Hit A Record!

At EduKick Manchester, our goal is to build each student-athlete to be the best player – and human being – they can be. It’s no surprise then, when we have a season of successes like this one!

Since the season started, EduKick Manchester has seen thirteen players rise to the top through hard work, great coaching and intense training.

This is an EduKick Manchester record! Student-players have headed to trials with professional clubs, signed with semi-professional teams for reserves (as well as first teams!) and more.

Our academy has worked even harder this season to promote our student-athletes through small training sessions with former professional footballers like Frank Sinclair, Jon Macken and Richie Wellens (Manager at Oldham), and hosting Professional Football Association sessions to introduce our students to current players and coaches from professional clubs in the area.

This season, we’ve also taken them to two showcase events in Manchester – where they rub elbows with scouts and representatives from clubs on the lookout for up-and-coming players and fresh talent.

Want to know the names of these talented young men?

  • Benjamin Hjun Woong Seol – Signed for Radcliffe Borough under the management of our own Jon Macken and Frank Sinclair, making appearances in the first team for the side.
  • Will Brookshaw – Selected from the showcase event in October by League One, side Crewe Alexandra.

Choose the Best Football/Soccer Academy: England vs. Spain

Looking to find the right soccer/football academy? Congratulations! You’ve found it. EduKick International Football Academies offers two exciting opportunities for great soccer training and a solid academic program. Here are some notes to help you make the best choice.

England

  • Located in Manchester, England
  • Focus on Fitness and Speed
  • Professional Trials Available
  • Plenty of Academic Options

England Football Academy Training

English football matches are both faster and more physical than soccer games elsewhere in the football-playing world. There are four things that most English coaches ask us about when it comes to players: attitude, athleticism, ability with the football, and commitment.

With English football training, upper body and core strength are key. English players tend to be stronger, so start strength training now for these intense physical matches.

In addition to building your strength, also work on your speed, agility, and endurance. This will prepare you for the fast and furious pace of English football.

Spain

  • Located in Madrid, Spain
  • Focus on Technique and Footwork
  • Individual Coaching
  • Private Gym “Strength and Conditioning” program

Spanish Football Academy Training

For football academies in Spain, precision and speed are a lot more important than power, and training involves team-oriented and tactical skills. It’s important for players to be aware of their surroundings and know where teammates are on the field.

For players considering a Spanish international football academy, one thing is most important: a love of the game. According to Nacho Mallo, the head coordinator at EduKick Madrid, players with a passion for football are the ones who are going to improve the most.

“All that passion they have, they’ll find a way to express it here,” Mallo said. “We care about all the technical things, so it’s a good place for anyone who’s a more technical player. They will enjoy Spanish football.”

EduKick England: How Do Host Homes Really Work?

Getting excellent soccer training, the best coaching, a specialized fitness plan, and a great education sounds like an easy decision to make. But we know it can be hard to envision yourself really living in another country.

Questions like: Where will I study? What will I eat? What if I want to go out? and many more can cause prospective students to shy away from making the best decision of their lives.

And while it’s true that dedicating to an overseas soccer academy can be a difficult step, a little information can erase that problem. That’s why our directors have put together this video following one of our student-players, JP, through his life living with a host family in England.

Watch the video below to reveal the best chance you have at working to make your dreams a reality. Not only are his accomodations, security and comfort taken into account, his host family shows genuine appreciation for their charge and enjoys the opportunity to support a young athlete in training.

After that, take a moment to listen to our Director of EduKick Manchester, and decide if our soccer academy in Manchester, England, might be right for you.

Find out what living in Manchester is really like.

Joey Bilotta FTW

JOEY FTW

Joey Bilotta For The Win

If you’ve ever studied and trained at an EduKick Academy, then you know Joey Bilotta. Joey has spent most of his life inspiring young soccer players to excellence.

He works harder than most people on the planet to encourage, motivate and involve them in classes, sessions, and training that prepares them – not just for the soccer arena – but for life.

The Goal of EduKick Academies

As soccer, or football, is a world sport, it’s his goal, and the goal of all EduKick venues, to offer these young players a better sense of what the world is like. And while academics and soccer training are the main studies at each campus, the overall experience offered by EduKick International Football Association (EIFA) provides the opportunity for each student to develop intercultural competence.

Joey firmly believes that learning to understand, communicate with, and play alongside players and coaches from other countries and cultures gives these students an edge over most other players.

What Student Success Looks Like

With that edge comes a better awareness of who they are – individually – and what their place is in the international world of soccer. While some, like Duncan McCormick and David Somma, have gone on to professional careers, others have chosen to coach, teach, and work in the administrative side of the soccer world.

Whatever their place, these student-players – alumni of EduKick Academies – continue to develop in the sport they love so much.

And a good deal of this deeply embedded sense of purpose is owed to our own Joey Bilotta.

Thanks, Joey!

Spanish Soccer Academy: EduKick Students Enjoy Madrid

Daily Routines

Everyday at Madrid students wake up at dawn in the university dorm rooms and prepare for the day of training ahead. After a simple Spanish breakfast, they begin daily language lessons and usual academics.

A workout in the gym follows with a specialized fitness training routine for each student-athlete. By then, it’s time for lunch in Madrid – the heartiest meal of the day here – introducing the student-players to many new foods and old favorites like tortillas.

Soccer practices and games take place during the afternoon, and in the evenings, a traditionally light Spanish dinner. Students often call home during this time as well as work on studies and spend time with new friends in the game room.

EduKick Students Meet League Founders

Soccer ClubsEdukick Manchester coaches, staff and student-players are delighted to form a new partnership with Accrington Stanley FC.

Through friend of EduKick International, Dave Bailey, Edukick Manchester has formed a great link to the professional football club, allowing Edukick Manchester student-players to get a fantastic view into the world of English football.

Accrington Stanley FC is one of the founding members of the football league!

Accrington Stanley

In fact, Accrington Stanley, one of only 12 clubs to form the football league, in 1888, has had a tough time throughout history. After a dramatic reformation of the club, in 1968, they established themselves firmly in English football.

From there they started to move up through the local non-league setup to the national non-league setup.

Then, in 2005, they won promotion back into the football league where they have been ever since. Now known as ‘The club that will never die’ Accrington Stanley is a traditional and local football club, but now with grand and glorious ideas to progress in football.

Accrington Stanley coaches will be delivering guest sessions to the Edukick Manchester players. Student-players will also have the opportunity for visits to the ground to watch the first team games, fantastic guest speakers from the club, and even more possibilities for those who show potential to train and trial with the club.

Manchester Accrington Square1

Throughout the season, Edukick Manchester will play the Accrington Stanley Academy teams too, which is a great opportunity for Head of Recruitment Dave Bailey to watch the Edukick players first hand.

Edukick & Accrington Stanley had their first success in the partnership, with Lawrence Hanna of Edukick Manchester being invited to Accrington to train with the Academy and showcase to the coaches what he can do. Hopefully later this month, Lawrence will spend time at Accrington to try to kick start his football career.

We believe that a well-trained student can not only play soccer well, but be able to communicate on an international level with other players, coaches and others in their daily lives away from home.
